ORCD BROCHURE
1. NAME OF THE ORGANIZATION
·
The
name of the organization hereinafter shall be called "The Organization for
Relief and Community Development and abbreviated as [ O R C D ].
·
It
was founded in 1999 and officially registered as Non-Governmental Organization
in the year 2000 in Kenya NGO Bureau.
·
ORCD
is an indigenous Non-governmental organization working in South Sudan with the
war affected civil population of Southern Sudan.
2. MISSON OF THE ORGAIZATION
·
The
main mission of ORCD is to strive to address the needs of the people of
Southern Sudan who are maid by the going civil war in the country and as well
as in the refugee camps in the neighboring countries.
·
ORCD shall work hand in hand with the
international community to save lives of these innocent war affected
populations through relief, rehabilitation and community development
initiatives.
·
ORCD
is mandated to respond to victims of natural and man-made disasters.
·
We
shall also support self-help programs which involve local communities in their
own developmental expectations to restore their dignity and to realize their
potentials.
3. GOALS AND PROGRAMS OF THE ORGANIZATION
We
set to form our organization goals and programs primarily on education, agriculture,
heath care, protection of children, demobilization of child soldier, vulnerable
and disable groups, youth and women activities, water and sanitation,
sensitization of civil society on development, advocacy on peace, democracy and
promotion of human rights.
4. OBJECTIVES OF THE ORGANIZATION

Through
relief and sustainable community development activities, we shall struggle to
alleviate the suffering of our Sudanese people in South Sudan
·
To
train adults and youth in income generating techniques using locally available
resources and appropriate technology.
·
To
hire, advisors, experts and other resource personnel for all or any of the
object of the organization.
·
To
enter into any arrangement with any agency, government or authority that may be
conducive to the organization's objects or any of them. And to obtain from such
agency, government or authority any rights privileges and concessions, which
the organization may think desirable to obtain.
·
To
assist UN agencies and other international NGO'S wishing to carryout an assessment
mission in the area of our operations.
·
To
help in the coordination/distribution of any emergency supplies to the most
affected populations in South Sudan.
·
To
promote or assist in the promotion of any organization or company or other body
having similar objects to those of the organization.
·
ORCD
shall train its staffs in modern information technology, agricultural
techniques, effective need assessments and training of teachers program in
South Sudan and else where.
·
With
the help of modern technology ORCD shall strengthen internal and traditional
techniques of survival among local communities of Southern Sudan.
·
To
draw, execute or otherwise deal with negotiable or transferable instructions.
·
We
shall ever remain transparent and accountable to the people we serve and to
whom we receive resources from.
5. Funding of the
organization
·
ORCD
shall raise, mobilize and disburse funds and other resources for the promotion
of the objects of the organization.
·
Apply
to any agency, organization, government or authority, public bodies,
corporations, companies or persons for and to accept grants or gifts of money
and of any moveable or immovable property, donation, gifts, subscriptions and
other assistance with a view to promote the objects of the organization and, in
taking of any gifts or property to the same subject to any special trust which
may prescribed by the donor thereof.

To
take such steps by personal or written appeals or proposals, public meetings or
otherwise as may be from time to time be deemed expedient for the purpose of
procuring contributions to the funds of the organization in the form of
donations, annual subscriptions or otherwise.
·
To
establish an endowment funds to receive grants, donations, gifts and other
assistance in any form whatsoever from any country, for any one or more of the
objects of the organization and to establish non-profit making foundations in
any country or countries for the purpose of receiving donation from private and
corporate persons and for channeling the same to the organizational development
operations.
6. Management of the Organization
ORCD management
encourages skillful and qualified staff members who shall provide appropriate
management to the operations of the organization. In the meantime, ORCD have
employed and assigned few professionals in the following areas:

body of the organization.
